A special two-day workshop for Triangle-area ESL teachers to learn some of the principles of Literacy Through Photography (LTP), which encourages children to photograph scenes from their own lives as catalysts for verbal and written expression. LTP is a program of the Center for Documentary Studies.
Participants will learn how to use photography and writing as tools for enhancing students' language skills, self-expression, and personal involvement in school and develop plans to incorporate LTP into their own classrooms. Each participating ESL teacher will receive a $200 stipend.
15 spots available. Register soon with LTP director Katie Hyde: kahyde@duke.edu
The workshop is made possible with generous support from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.
